ATRA is looking for an experienced Senior Technical Artist for Characters to support one of our clients, independently own technical work streams, resolve complex issues, and improve the team's workflows.
The role covers the integration, technical quality, and optimisation of characters, creatures, and equipment, alongside tool development to reduce repetitive manual work and make production more reliable.

Investigate visual and technical issues, identify root causes, and implement lasting solutions. Assess asset performance costs and propose optimisations that preserve the intended visual quality. - Tools and pipeline improvements:
Identify opportunities to automate repetitive tasks, develop integration and validation tools, and improve workflows in collaboration with artists and engineers. - Technical support and knowledge sharing:
Document solutions, conduct technical reviews, and share best practices. Support less experienced team members while keeping the lead informed of risks, dependencies, and blockers within the assigned scope.
Proven Technical Art experience working on character or creature production, ideally in a AAA environment. Strong proficiency in Unreal Engine 5 and character asset pipelines, with a solid understanding of shaders, skinning, skeletons, LODs, and performance constraints.
