The Virtualization and Storage Engineer will be responsible for the management of virtualized environments using VMware. The engineer will also have a broad knowledge of server hardware, storage and networking technologies as well as system management tools such as Power Shell/Power
CLI. The role requires experience with
Windows Server , Windows Clustering Services and Failover Clusters. Have an understanding of Active Directory Domain Services.
You will be responsible for planning, designing and implementing new storage solutions. You'll also manage and maintain existing storage systems in the datacenter.
Requirements
- Supports VM functions in the data center environment, such as network connectivity, load balancing, and VMware vSphere host management
- Configures hardware, software, and operating system configurations according to assigned job duties and requests.
- Verifies equipment to ensure maximum performance.
- Documents work procedures and related information in order to produce clear and concise documentation.
- Performs hardware, software, and network maintenance and troubleshooting for servers, networks, and storage infrastructure.
- Installs, configures, and maintains the VMware virtualization solution.
- Researches, designs, and tests tools, processes, and procedures to assist in data center management and efficient utilization of server resources.
- Analyzes various options to optimize an IT infrastructure to reduce costs and increase efficiency.
Qualifications
- Proficient in Windows, Linux and/or VMware server administration.
- At least 5 years of experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware ESX, Citrix Xen Server, Microsoft Hyper-V or Red Hat KVM.
- Experience with Storage Area Networking (SAN) and/or network storage technologies such as iSCSI, Fibre Channel (FC), Fibre Channel over Ethernet (FCoE), IP Storage or NAS a plus.
- VMware Vsphere Certification
- MSCE Certified
- Experience on Dell Storage would be advantageous
