Senior Site Engineer - Structural Projects

Our client, a leading contractor specializing in major structural projects, is seeking a highly experienced Senior Site Engineer to play a key role in their operations in Sandton, Gauteng
. This position demands a strong technical background in structural engineering and extensive site-based project execution experience. You will be responsible for overseeing the technical aspects of construction, ensuring quality, safety, and efficiency on site. The ideal candidate will possess excellent problem-solving skills, a proactive approach to managing site challenges, and the ability to lead and mentor junior engineering staff. This is a critical role for delivering complex structural works to the highest standards in the Sandton area.

• Oversee and manage the engineering and technical aspects of construction projects on site.
• Ensure all construction activities are carried out in accordance with design specifications, drawings, and quality standards.
• Implement and manage site quality control procedures.
• Monitor construction progress and proactively identify and resolve technical issues and challenges.
• Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations on site.
• Manage and coordinate subcontractors and suppliers from a technical perspective.
• Liaise with the design team, project managers, and clients on technical matters.
• Prepare and review method statements, risk assessments, and lift plans.
• Supervise and mentor junior site engineers and site staff.
• Contribute to the planning and scheduling of site works.

• A Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Professional registration with ECSA (Pr. Eng. or Pr. Tech. Eng.) is highly desirable.
• A minimum of 7 years of relevant site engineering experience, with a strong focus on structural projects.
• Proven experience in managing complex structural construction projects.
• In-depth knowledge of structural engineering principles, construction methods, and materials.
• Strong understanding of quality management systems and safety regulations in construction.
• Proficiency in engineering software and project management tools.
• Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Experience working within the Gauteng construction sector, particularly Sandton
