Oracle DBA Team Lead

The Database Administrator Team lead role focuses on ensuring stability, integrity, and availability of systems, security compliance and best practice implementation and support of client’s environments. With a strong technical background and business competence, the team lead role will ensure that business requirements are satisfied by the implementation of best practices, support processes and procedures in order to ensure effective and efficient service delivery.

The DBA Team lead would need to work closely with System & Application Administrators, Service & Operations Management to ensure end-to-end delivery of services in scope.

In Addition to facilitation of service delivery within a broader team of DBA’s, The DBA Team lead operates in the context of a Principle DBA and is also required to perform installs, administers and maintains database servers in addition to ensuring database recoverability in the event of a disaster.

Qualification/Professional Certifications

Matric, Diploma, Bachelor's Degree, in Computer Science / Information Technology, or equivalent

Oracle database certification & knowledge of Unix, storage subsystems advantageous

Excellent communicator, and high levels of proficiency in the English language – speaking, read and write

Ability to create and maintain strong working relationships with colleagues and customers

Requirements
Experience in the capacity of a Senior Database Administrator, Principal, or DBA Team Lead.

Experience in Cloud Hyperscalers (Oracle OCI, AWS & Azure)

Core Database Administration: administration, maintenance, performance tuning, security, backup and recovery, high availability

Experience with Oracle Data Guard (DG) , Oracle Real Application Cluster(RAC )

Unix and PL/SQL scripting knowledge advantageous

Experience in Oracle’s Engineered Systems, Oracle Exadata, ODA, Oracle Super Cluster advantageous

Experience in Platform & Database Migrations

Mentor less experienced members of the team in technology and processes.

Minimum 6 Years Database Administrator Experience on Oracle in a senior capacity

A solid understanding of Core Database Administration

Experience in designing and implementing High Availability and Disaster Recovery solutions:

Oracle RAC and

Oracle Data uard

Experience in database migrations, and administration on multiple platforms

A solid understanding of Windows , Unix/Linux, Solaris Operating Systems

Solid understanding of Oracle Rman backup and recovery

Technical Architect for new database application systems

Proven experience with systems planning, security principles, and general software management best practices.

Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.

Strong character / ability to match expectation from customer and management
