Overview
The delivery driver works with other members of the distribution team to increase company profitability and customer satisfaction by delivering complete, accurate and on-time deliveries to the company’s customers. The driver represents the company in a highly professional, safe and cost-effective manner that complies with MTO and other applicable regulations.
Job Duties
Prepare truck for operation by assisting in and overseeing the loading of trucks, securing of items and verifying the accuracy of shipping papersInspect truck tires, lights, brakes, fluids, etc. to ensure safe and cost-effective performance with preventive maintenance in mindDeliver orders via the most effective route to ensure complete orders are delivered according to established time frames and customers’ needsMaintain communication with company during deliveries to ensure any updated instructions are receivedDocument delivery, accuracy and receipt of orders by the customer according to company directives and report any discrepancies to companyMaintain and monitor truck maintenance and driving record requirements such as daily log books, and maintain required documents for safety, security and quality processesSafely operate forklifts, conveyors, boom-cranes and other warehouse equipment as requiredPerform occasional warehouse duties as requiredMaintain proficiency in computerized systems and other technologies as requiredFollow company policies and proceduresOther duties as assignedJob Requirements:
Delivers superior customer serviceAble to read a map or GPS and accurately plan a routeAccuracy and attention to detailProfessional demeanorAble to handle difficult customers with diplomacy and tactCapable of following written instructions and documented proceduresRecognizes and understands product numbers and alpha/numeric codesWorking knowledge of Ministry of Transportation rules and regulationsEffective listening, verbal and written communication skillsOperate forklifts if requiredLift/carry/maneuver heavy material or equipment (up to 80 lbs)Valid driver’s license (AZ or DZ as required) and good driving recordMust be physically fit, and have safety footwear, and hard hat. Police check required.
