Summary & Overview
Our client, an organization within the Saskatchewan Public Sector, is seeking experienced Commissioning Consultants to provide independent advisory services in support of major industrial projects. Acting as trusted advisors to the client’s commissioning organization, you will help shape commissioning strategies, develop documentation and procedures, and support the safe, efficient transition from construction to operations. This role is ideal for professionals with proven commissioning expertise in industrial facilities who thrive in collaborative, owner-led environments.
Deliverables & Responsibilities
- Provide advisory input on commissioning planning and strategy, including system breakdown, turnover sequencing, and readiness verification.
- Support the preparation and refinement of Commissioning Plans, system completion packages, and turnover documentation workflows.
- Supply and adapt commissioning templates, inspection and test records (ITRs), functional test sheets, and standard procedures (e.g., LOTO, energization, flushing, calibration).
- Assist in developing system-specific commissioning procedures aligned with OEM guidance and client standards.
- Participate in commissioning readiness reviews, punch list resolution, and troubleshooting during start-up and performance testing.
- Provide lessons-learned feedback to enhance future commissioning phases.
- Advise on post-commissioning transition, including O&M manuals, training aids, spare parts strategies, and performance baselines.
- Deliver clear, professional documentation in editable formats (Word, Excel, etc.) for client ownership.
- Collaborate with client’s commissioning, project delivery, and construction teams, as well as contractors and OEM vendors, to ensure safe, consistent, and timely system handover.
Qualifications
- Proven experience delivering commissioning services for industrial facilities (mining, metals, chemicals, or equivalent).
- Expertise in at least one discipline: mechanical, electrical, instrumentation & controls, process, or operations.
- Familiarity with commissioning frameworks such as CSA Z320 or equivalent.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with owner-led commissioning teams and EPC organizations.
- Professional credentials such as P.Eng., technologist, or equivalent.
- Strong technical writing and documentation skills, with the ability to produce high-quality procedures and templates.
- Commitment to safety, environmental stewardship, and quality standards.
- Excellent problem-solving and advisory skills, with the ability to provide independent, practical recommendations.
