The Medical Office Assistant of Battlefords Family Health Centre will work under the supervision of the Clinic Coordinator of BFHC. The MOA is responsible for providing clinical support to the primary care team, including reception, booking appointments, recording vitals, and general office duties. These duties provide clerical and administrative support to team members of BFHC as assigned by the Clinic Coordinator.

Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical support to the primary care team.
  • Assist with reception, booking appointments, and recording patient vitals.
  • Handle general office duties and maintain administrative support.
  • Ensure proper management of health information and billing for primary health care sites.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
Qualifications
  • Graduate with a degree or diploma from a recognized educational institution in a field related to medical office assistant support, or demonstrate knowledge and experience as they relate to commonly used medical equipment and clinical assistant procedures in a medical office.
  • Understand the requirements for management of health information, including the billing model for primary health care sites.
  • Demonstrate organizational abilities and interpersonal skills to meet the reception and clinical needs of two or more clinicians.
  • Have previous experience working in a multidisciplinary clinical health setting with a variety of health professionals and paraprofessionals (asset).
  • Be able to work independently with demonstrated planning, organization skills, and strong communication skills.
  • Possess good computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, social media platforms, and video development process.
  • Hold a valid driver's license and have access to a vehicle during working hours.
  • Show understanding of health and social issues facing Indigenous people.
  • Work effectively as a team member and independently in a self‑motivated manner.
  • Speak Cree (asset).
  • Maintain confidential information.
  • Obtain a successful criminal record check with the vulnerable sector.
  • Exhibit excellent written and verbal communication skills.
