Position: Software Developer - 7 Month Term

Position Summary:

A Software Developer at Vecima contributes to designing, developing, testing, and maintaining Vecima product software, with a focus on Linux-based software that is the control plane for Vecima's products. Products created include but are not limited to: broadband video processing, DOCSIS data and video transmission, and content delivery systems.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Engage with an Agile scrum team to:

  • Design the system software.
  • Plan sprint work.
  • Execute chosen work.
  • Review teammates’ work on Gerrit.
  • Actively contribute to retrospectives for continuous improvement.
  • Participate in grooming/refining the Jira product backlog.
  • Estimate effort and time for upcoming work items.
  • Participate in the mentoring of team members.
  • Improve team’s knowledge and skills through collaboration and pair programming.
  • Produce appropriate system documentation and artifacts stored on Confluence.
  • Push code for review to central Git/Gerrit server regularly.
