Job Summary: As a Shipping and Receiving Clerk, you will be responsible for overseeing the flow of goods in and out of our organization. You will play a critical role in ensuring accurate and timely shipments and receipts of products, maintaining inventory records, and coordinating with various departments/branches to facilitate smooth operations. Attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment are essential for success in this role.
This role is expected to start as temporary/hourly, which may then become permanent, based on experience and growth.
Responsibilities:
Receive incoming shipments and verify the accuracy of items received against packing slips or purchase orders using ERP Software (Syteline).Inspect goods for damage, and report discrepancies or damages to the appropriate personnel.Prepare outgoing shipments by picking, packing, and labeling items according to shipping requirements and customer orders through ERP Software (Syteline).Coordinate with carriers and freight forwarders to schedule pickups and deliveries, ensuring timely shipment of goods.Maintain accurate inventory records using computerized systems and physical counts.Organize and maintain the warehouse or storage areas to ensure efficient space utilization and cleanliness.Communicate effectively with internal teams, including purchasing, production, and sales, to coordinate shipment schedules and resolve any issues that may arise.Handle shipping and receiving documentation, including bills of lading, packing lists, and customs paperwork, ensuring compliance with regulations and company procedures.Operate material handling equipment such as pallet jacks, and hand trucks safely and efficiently.Assist in conducting periodic inventory audits to reconcile discrepancies and ensure inventory accuracy.Follow safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe work environment for yourself and others.Perform other duties as assigned by management to support inventory, warehouse and/or logistics operations.Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in logistics or supply chain management is a plus.Previous experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations preferred.Proficiency in using computerized inventory management systems and Microsoft Office applications.Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling paperwork and inventory records.Excellent organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as collaboratively in a team environment.Effective communication skills to interact with internal teams, external vendors, and carriers.Physical ability to lift and move heavy objects, stand for extended periods, and work in varying temperature conditions.Benefits
