All products are designed and built at our facilities in beautiful Scotts Valley, CA.Position Summary Digital Dynamics, Inc. is seeking a motivated Software Engineer I to join our engineering team.

This position is ideal for a near-term graduate or early-career software engineer who is looking to expand their technical skills while contributing to real-world software applications and systems.

The Software Engineer I will assist in designing, developing, testing, and maintaining software applications that support our engineering and manufacturing operations. This role will work closely with experienced engineers and cross-functional teams to develop reliable, efficient, and scalable software solutions.

The ideal candidate has a solid foundation in software development, strong problem-solving skills, and a willingness to learn and grow in a collaborative engineering environment.

Key Responsibilities Assist in the design, development, testing, and maintenance of software applications and backend services

Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and integrations between software systems

Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code using languages such as Python, Java, C++, or Java Script Support  database development, including SQL queries, data modeling, and database maintenance

Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve software issues with guidance from experienced engineers

Participate in software design discussions, code reviews, and technical planning

Assist in developing internal tools and applications that improve engineering and manufacturing workflows

Write and maintain technical documentation, including software specifications and testing procedures

Collaborate with software, hardware, test, and manufacturing engineering teams

Support software testing, validation, and continuous improvement initiatives

Apply software development best practices, including version control, automated testing, and CI/CD processes

Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field1–3 years of professional software development experience; candidates with as little as 1 year of post-college experience are encouraged to apply

Proficiency in at least one programming language, such as Python, Java, C++, or Java Script Solid  understanding of object-oriented programming, data structures, and algorithms

Basic understanding of REST APIs and backend application development

Familiarity with relational databases and SQL Experience using Git or other version control systems

Understanding of software development lifecycle principles and debugging techniques

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

Ability to work collaboratively and learn new technologies

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with backend frameworks such as FastAPI, Flask, Spring Boot, or Node.js Familiarity with frontend technologies such as React, HTML, CSS, or Java Script Experience  with PostgreSQL, MySQL, or other relational databases

Familiarity with Linux operating systems and command-line tools

Exposure to Docker, cloud platforms, or CI/CD pipelines

Experience with unit testing, integration testing, or automated testing frameworks
