Recruitment Pro are recruiting on behalf of a well-established and rapidly growing manufacturing business within the pet care and consumer goods sector supplying both UK and international markets. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Technical & Compliance Manager to join their UK manufacturing site in Scunthorpe. This is a key role responsible for ensuring all quality, compliance, and product safety standards are met across the site.
The RoleReporting to the UK Factory Manager, the Technical & Compliance Manager will be responsible for managing quality systems, supporting new product development, overseeing audits, and driving continuous improvement across manufacturing and supply chain operations. This is a cross‑functional, hands‑on role working closely with Operations, Purchasing, R&D, and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities Quality Systems & Compliance- Implement and manage Quality Management Systems to ensure product safety and compliance.
- Mitigate risk of non‑conformance against internal, customer, and regulatory requirements.
- Review and update procedures and documentation in line with regulatory and customer changes.
- Manage technical aspects of internal and co‑manufactured NPD projects.
- Develop and manage detailed project timelines.
- Drive continuous improvement through alternative materials, packaging, or process improvements.
- Conduct on‑site testing in line with HACCP requirements.
- Arrange and review external laboratory testing.
- Carry out in‑line inspections and sample reviews.
- Support assessment of new raw materials for compliance and functionality.
- Maintain training records in line with QMS requirements.
- Deliver quality and compliance training across site teams.
- Communicate non‑conformances and corrective actions.
- Conduct internal audits and prepare for external customer and certification audits.
- Support supplier and customer audits as required.
- Review processes, controls, and on‑pack claims to ensure compliance.
- Investigate and resolve customer complaints.
- Implement corrective actions to reduce risk of recurrence.
- Strong understanding of BRC, ISO, and consumer goods regulatory standards.
- Proven experience in a technical, quality, or compliance role within manufacturing.
- Experience supporting NPD projects, audits, and supplier approvals.
- Ability to interpret laboratory test results and technical data.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence across teams.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel for audits and site visits.
- Salary of £37,000 - £40,000.
- Monday to Friday working hours, 7:00am - 3:00pm.
