Warehouse Operative

Our client is looking for an experienced Warehouse Operative to assist with the smooth and efficient operations across their stores by handling the receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods. Your role will play a key part in ensuring logistics processes meet both customer expectations and business needs.

Receiving & Inspection

• Unload incoming deliveries and check goods against purchase orders

• Inspect items for damage or discrepancies and report issues promptly

• Record all inbound shipments in line with the companies WMS

• Sort incoming goods into the correct areas for put-away

Storage & Inventory Management

• Store products safely and efficiently in designated locations

• Maintain up-to-date stock records within the warehouse management system

• Carry out regular stock takes and cycle counts

Order Picking, Checking & Packing

• Accurately pick, check, and pack goods based on customer orders

• Prepare items for dispatch with correct labels and documentation

Dispatch & Transport Coordination

• Support vehicle loading and create necessary shipping paperwork

• Communicate with couriers and transport partners to ensure timely dispatches

Health & Safety Compliance

• Safely operate forklifts and warehouse equipment (if certified)

• Follow all health and safety guidelines and help keep the warehouse clean and organised

Continuous Improvement

• Contribute ideas to streamline warehouse processes and enhance efficiency

• Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics environment preferred

• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting and meet deadlines

• High level of accuracy and attention to detail

• Basic IT skills (Excel, Outlook); WMS experience is a plus

• Forklift licence desirable but not essential

• Dependable, punctual, and committed

• Strong team player with good communication skills

• Physically fit and comfortable performing manual duties
