Join to apply for the Transport Team Manager Days role t of the Distribution Centre Management team that provides great service to our stores, ensuring customers have great availability and standards of product by leading a team of colleagues who feel safe and enjoy working at Tesco while operating an efficient and compliant operation.

You will be responsible for leading our Transport operation to deliver, sustain and improve performance across all KPIs, while ensuring our customers’ needs are at the heart of what we do.

You will be responsible
  • Analysing data and information, establishing root cause and implementing corrective actions.
  • Delivering exceptional operating standards and ways of working across all areas of my shift.
  • Using the Transport systems to realise operating routines and associated efficiencies.
  • Delivering the Transport improvement plan and building capability where needed.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve transport operation efficiency and performance, engaging and supporting the team to deliver them.
  • Delivering all Transport plans, KPIs and resources to ensure delivery and sustainable improvements, while achieving the Distribution Centre financial budget.
  • Championing change, sharing ideas and experiences to deliver results.
  • Leading resource planning activities so that all hours are worked where needed to service stores.
  • Meeting the needs of colleagues by using people routines and delivering strong leadership.
  • Making decisions with the customer at the heart of operations and working in partnership with the Distribution Centre Management team.
  • Data analysis to identify root causes and implement corrective measures.
  • Delivering exceptional standards across all operational areas of the Delivery Service function.
  • Leading and managing the team to stay productive and coaching or supporting any colleagues not achieving targets.
  • Following our Business Code of Conduct and Data Protection Law, acting with integrity and due diligence.
You will need
  • The CPC trainer certification is preferable.
  • Collaborates with colleagues, shares knowledge and best practices, builds relationships across the business to improve what matters.
  • Warm and welcoming in every interaction with customers and colleagues; listens, responds and gains commitment from the team.
  • Energetic and resilient, maintains momentum in challenging environments, makes quick decisions to protect customers and colleagues and uphold Distribution Centre standards.
  • Leads by example, inspires confidence and continuously seeks improvement for the Distribution Centre.
  • Aware of competitors’ activities and proactively identifies ways to improve the Distribution Centre for customers, delivering new initiatives and providing feedback for further improvement.
