We are looking for a Healthcare Assistant to join Shaston ward, a 15‑bedded rehabilitation and end‑of‑life care ward within our thriving community hospital. The position is for Band 3 Healthcare Assistants with an interest in rehabilitation/frailty and end‑of‑life care. Motivated, caring, and with excellent team‑working, communication, and assessment skills.

Applicants requiring current skilled worker sponsorship to work in the UK are unfortunately ineligible to apply.

Employment requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which the Trust will cover. Those subscribed to the DBS update service may present a valid DBS certificate.

• Provide a high‑quality person‑centred approach to care delivery, always considering patients' privacy, dignity and safety.
• Deliver planned care to a group of patients working alongside the multi‑disciplinary team and in accordance with Trust policies and protocols.
• Demonstrate the ability to work effectively as part of a team and provide support/guidance to less experienced staff/learners within the clinical environment as needed.
• Manage a defined group of patients/service users under the indirect supervision of a Registered Nurse, using evidence‑based/client‑centred principles to undertake a range of delegated tasks independently.
• Contribute to the ongoing assessment, planning, implementation, and monitoring of patient/service user care, and escalate to senior registered practitioner as appropriate.
• Promote health and prevent ill health in service users, contributing to integrated care.
• Plan and undertake clinical tasks guided by standard operating procedures and protocols, within the limitations of the Healthcare Assistant role.
• Undertake delegated clinical skills within scope of practice having once undertaken relevant training, deemed competent and adhere to local and national guidance.
