Landfill Lead

Dem-Con Companies is seeking a skilled and experienced Lead Heavy Equipment Operator to join our landfill team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience operating heavy equipment, a strong understanding of safe and efficient operations, and demonstrated leadership abilities.

• Safely and efficiently operate various types of heavy equipment, including dozers, compactors, excavators, and other landfill equipment
• Process materials for recycling while operating grinders and screeners
• Perform pre- and post-operation inspections on equipment and vehicles
• Perform preventive maintenance on equipment and vehicles
• Provide day-to-day guidance and direction to other landfill personnel
• Help train, mentor, and develop less-experienced operators
• Communicate effectively with management and coworkers to ensure work is completed safely and efficiently.
• Promote teamwork, accountability, and a respectful work environment.
• Carry out site grounds maintenance including; picking litter, mowing, weed whipping, street sweeping, plowing and dust control
• Perform building and other stationary equipment maintenance

• Previous experience with heavy equipment
• May be required to obtain Landfill Certification

Outdoor environment; exposure to extreme weather conditions; work with and around heavy machinery; exposure to dust and fumes from motorized equipment; exposure to noise, odors and gases; exposure to heavy traffic conditions, possible exposure to toxic chemicals.
