Job Purpose
Perform, oversee, and certify composite structural maintenance on Airline and Third-Party aircraft undergoing line or base maintenance. This includes repairs/modifications, installation/replacements, inspections, and defect rectifications, while overseeing the work of assigned technicians, ensuring airworthiness & compliance with approved standards, regulatory requirements, and the airline’s maintenance procedures.
Key Result Responsibilities- Prepare for, perform, and certify scheduled and unscheduled maintenance tasks in accordance with task cards, approved data, and regulatory standards.
- Oversee the work of assigned technicians, ensuring tasks are performed to the required standards, resolving technical issues, and providing on-the-job guidance where needed.
- Review assigned task cards with the Engineer/ Supervisor to confirm full understanding of work scope, documentation, priorities, and safety precautions prior to task commencement.
- Conduct thorough inspections and defect rectification, ensuring defects are properly addressed using approved maintenance data.
- Record maintenance actions, test results, defect rectification, and parts usage accurately in the Maintenance & Engineering software systems, ensuring traceability and compliance with regulatory and company standards.
- Ensure the availability, compatibility, and readiness shop inventory in line with approved standards and operational needs.
- Maintain clear, effective communication with engineers, technicians, and operational teams to ensure task continuity, safe handovers, and seamless coordination.
- Enforce strict adherence to all safety regulations, maintenance procedures, and human factors principles before, during, and after task execution to safeguard personnel and equipment.
- Uphold high housekeeping standards and maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all time.
- Control resource usage, minimizing waste of consumables, preventing repeat work, and optimizing material and repair costs.
- Provide professional, proactive, and solution-oriented support to operational teams across the airline & third-party customers.
- Diploma or Certificate in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (Structural/Airframe discipline), or equivalent technical discipline.
- Skilled in fabrication activities, inspections, and task documentation.
- Strong knowledge of aircraft composite materials, bonded and mechanically fastened repairs, damage evaluation, corrosion control, and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent attention to detail with a focus on compliance and safety.
- Effective communication, coordination, and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to manage time and resources efficiently in a dynamic operational environment.
- Physically fit and able to work in various operational conditions (e.g., confined spaces, outdoor environments).
- Ability to work in rostered shifts based on operational requirements.
- Proficient in computer literacy for accessing Maintenance & Engineering software systems and documentation.
- Awareness of human factors in aircraft maintenance activities.
- 4 years’ experience performing maintenance of aircraft composite repair & maintenance, preferably Airbus type.
- Preferably Company-issued Certifying Authorization for composite structure tasks OR completion of related training with skills proficiency in lieu of certifications.
