Head of Engineering (FMCG/Food Manufacturing) – Sheffield Area

About the Business: This company is a leading name in the food manufacturing industry. We are looking for a dynamic Head of Engineering to lead their engineering team and drive strategic initiatives at their site in the Sheffield area.

The Role: As the Head of Engineering, you will be at the forefront of our engineering operations, ensuring the smooth running of the site. This role is perfect for a seasoned engineering professional with a strong technical background and leadership experience. You will oversee and manage managers and an extended team of 50 engineers, CAPEX planning, implement and influence engineering strategy, and work closely with operations and new product development to align factory capabilities with our innovative product offerings.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and develop the engineering strategy, focusing on proactive rather than reactive measures.
• Collaborate with operations and NPD teams to introduce new products.
• Manage the CAPEX plan for the site.
• Ensure the smooth operation of typical FMCG machinery, including conveyors and fabrication facilities.

What We’re Looking For:

• Proven leadership skills with experience managing engineering teams.
• Extensive experience in engineering within a similar manufacturing environment.
• Strong technical background in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Comfortable with fabrication and building maintenance.
• Ideally, experience within a similar-sized business or operation within FMCG or Food Manufacturing.
