Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager – UK Wide

A leading global engineering organisation is looking for an experienced Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager to support its UK operations and international project portfolio.
With approx. 300 employees across multiple UK sites (including workshops and overseas construction activity), this is a hands‑on, influential role at the heart of a complex technical environment.

You’ll take ownership of a broad range of EHS activities, supporting engineering projects, workshop operations and overseas construction sites. This is a practical, travel‑led position requiring strong engagement skills, technical competence and the ability to influence behaviours at all levels.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain and develop ISO 45001 &
ISO 14001 management systems - Lead behavioural safety and drive a proactive EHS culture
- Identify, assess and monitor EHS risks, and develop improvement plans
- Conduct internal audits and support external audit processes
- Complete task‑specific risk assessments
- Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions
- Deliver toolbox talks, coaching and practical safety training
- Ensure compliance with UK legislation, CDM and relevant standards
- Provide EHS support to UK workshops and international construction sites
- A‑Level / HNC / time‑served or equivalent
- NEBOSH Construction Certificate (or working towards Diploma)
- Strong experience in EHS within engineering, manufacturing or industrial environments
- Confident influencing stakeholders at all levels
- Proven experience with capital or turnkey projects
- Knowledge of CDM and COMAH
- Auditing and management systems experience
- Clear communicator with strong presentation skills
- Able to engage, challenge and influence
- Adaptable, proactive and able to respond quickly to changing priorities

This role can be based at any UK site, but requires regular travel (40–60%). Flexibility and a willingness to work across different environments are essential.
