About the RoleWe are looking for a qualified, experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor in our Commercial department. Your role will be to support Commercial best practice to maximise value and minimise risk and cost for both Sapphire Utility Solutions and our customers. Accurately value works undertaken and where necessary provide records to substantiate cost, ensure change control process is managed effectively in both Main and Subcontract.
Manage client relationships at contract level.
- Contractual knowledge to communicate with relevant parties and ensure understanding of contract terms.
- Work efficiently under tight deadlines and stressful conditions.
- Ensure maximum recovery of all contractual entitlements.
- Use performance data to identify opportunities and implement commercial processes to realise contractual entitlements and opportunities.
- Work closely with the Operational team.
- Proper contractual administration of assigned contract, including value and cost control, and maintenance of records.
- Accurately value works undertaken and record cost to allow prompt issue of Application for payment/invoice in line with contractual timescales.
- Support development of individuals within the commercial team.
- Accept extra duties as situations arise.
- Management of Subcontract Accounts.
- HNC in Quantity Surveying is advantageous.
- Undergraduate degree in Quantity Surveying or similar is advantageous.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in utilities or civils industry.
- Experience in QS role or Senior Commercial role.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, Advanced Excel skills essential.
- Strong commercial and financial acumen.
- Strong knowledge of contracts.
- Strong desire to maintain client relationships whilst not compromising contractual entitlement.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- 25 days holiday plus bank holidays.
- Company Car Grade 2.
