Systems Engineer – Siemens

We are looking for a Systems Engineer – Siemens to join our team in Sheffield. The role is full‑time, hybrid, and part of our Safety & Control portfolio.

• Complete all identified training, both internal and external, as required.
• Develop system architectures, designs, and detailed specifications to meet client requirements.
• Integrate various subsystems and components to form a cohesive system, ensuring compatibility and performance.
• Execute system testing and validation activities to verify that systems meet design specifications and performance criteria.
• Prepare and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including requirements, design specifications, test plans and operator manuals.
• Analyse and translate client requirements into functional and non‑functional specifications.
• Participate in technical discussions with project teams and identify and resolve technical issues.
• Support commissioning at client sites.
• Support and specify procurement activities as required.
• Be actively involved in the manufacture, assembly and testing of bespoke systems.
• Suggest changes and improvements if opportunities arise.
• Engage in continuous learning to develop technical skills and knowledge relevant to system integration.
• Communicate with clients to understand their needs and ensure their satisfaction with the delivered system.
• Work closely with cross‑functional teams, including software, hardware, workshop and project management, to ensure successful project delivery.
• Follow all health and safety regulations, procedures and protocols.
• Support the delivery of the project scope to the company quality management system, process and procedures.
• Have basic knowledge of client‑specific standards and international standards.
• Engage in quality and technical reviews.
• Assist with any other duties reasonably requested and in line with the requirements of the role.

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience with a relevant qualification or 4 years’ experience in systems engineering or an equivalent role.
• Good understanding of systems engineering principles and methodologies.
• Good knowledge of software packages relevant to the role, e.g., SCADA, PLC and HMI packages.
• Familiarity and experience with system integration processes, tools and technologies.
• A basic understanding of industry and company quality management systems, processes and procedures.
• Good verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration and client interaction.
