Job Overview
The Reliability Maintenance Engineering (RME) team at Amazon is essential to keeping vital machinery running at all times. As an RME Technician you will maintain a wide range of equipment and work spaces while upholding Health and Safety best practices. You will help keep your colleagues safe and prevent machine downtime, boosting equipment availability and quality across our fulfillment network.
Key Responsibilities- Perform proactive and preventative maintenance tasks on a variety of site equipment.
- Carry out reactive repairs and fault diagnosis in a live distribution warehouse.
- Use the latest tools to maximize equipment effectiveness.
- Uphold all health and safety policies and practices.
- Support the development and progression of on‑site apprentices.
- Work on continuous improvement projects and roll out best practices across a range of EU sites.
Based on‑site, you will respond quickly to any machinery issues, carrying out planned preventative maintenance to ensure equipment works safely. You will investigate breakdowns, find solutions swiftly, and suggest long‑term improvements. Working alongside senior colleagues, you will undertake day‑to‑day maintenance tasks such as painting and plumbing, liaising with contractors when needed, and working shifts to support sites around the clock.
About the TeamThe RME team keeps equipment performing at its best, working together to maintain, troubleshoot and repair equipment across our global network of fulfillment centres. Opportunities for progression exist both within the RME team and more widely across Amazon, with work often during early or late hours to minimise disruption.
Qualifications- Served a full Engineering indentured apprenticeship and/or qualified to a minimum NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a relevant Engineering subject.
- Relevant experience as a qualified engineer.
- Relevant experience in mechanical and/or electrical maintenance.
- Advanced proficiency in the local language verbally and in writing.
- Experience in condition‑based monitoring.
- Experience working with print and apply machines.
- Experience in fault‑finding and maintaining conveyor or automation systems.
Relevant engineering experience and a minimum of NVQ Level 3 in a relevant Engineering subject.
Key SkillsHospital Experience, Hotel Experience, Taleo, Calibration, Pool Maintenance, Maintenance Management, Maintenance, Quality Control, Boiler, Oil & Gas Experience, Programmable Logic Controllers, Supervising Experience.
