Engineering Supervisor

A market-leading food manufacturer in the Sheffield area is looking for an Engineering Team Leader / Supervisor to take ownership of engineering performance within a fast-paced production environment.

This is a role for someone who enjoys leading engineers, setting standards, and staying close to the engineering function, while having the freedom to run their team without unnecessary interference.

You’ll be given real autonomy to manage the shift, prioritise work, and influence how engineering supports production.

Shifts - 4 on 4 off days/nights

The Role

You will:

Lead, coach, and develop a team of multi-skilled engineers

Take responsibility for engineering performance, reliability, and downtime

Balance hands-on engineering support with leadership and decision-making

Prioritise breakdowns, PPMs, and resources in a high-volume environment

Set clear standards around safety, quality, and engineering best practice

Work closely with production to ensure safe, efficient operations

This role values strong engineering judgement as much as strong people leadership.

What They’re Looking For

Experience leading engineers in a manufacturing or production environment

A solid engineering background with the credibility to lead from the front

Strong people management skills - communication, accountability, and structure

Food manufacturing experience is ideal but not essential

Comfortable working at pace and making decisions under pressure
