Financial Manager
The Role
As Finance Manager, you will be responsible for delivering accurate and timely financial information, while ensuring the smooth operation of day-to-day finance activities.
Reporting directly to the COO, you will have genuine influence over systems, processes, controls and ongoing improvements across the function.
Key Responsibilities Financial Operations & Reporting- Oversee day-to-day finance activity, including SL, PL, expenses and general ledger bookkeeping.
- Manage customer invoicing, supplier payments and aged debtor/creditor control.
- Produce accurate monthly management accounts to agreed deadlines.
- Deliver improved management information for both the UK site and Group stakeholders.
- Complete balance sheet reconciliations (accruals, prepayments, fixed assets).
- Maintain strong cost control discipline across the business.
- Complete daily bank reconciliations.
- Lead weekly cashflow forecasting and liquidity planning.
- Support Group cash calls and weekly cash sweep requirements.
- Liaise with Group Finance teams for consolidated reporting, budgeting and submissions.
- Provide finance administration for the US sister company, including bookkeeping and transactional support.
- Strengthen financial systems, processes and internal controls, identifying opportunities for automation.
- Manage year-end accounts preparation and support the external audit process.
- Submit VAT returns and HMRC filings accurately and on time.
- Liaise directly with HMRC regarding queries, investigations or compliance matters.
- Support statutory reporting, including P11
Ds and PSA activity.
- Manage the annual budgeting cycle.
- Partner with department heads to improve financial visibility and accountability.
- Monitor performance vs budget, highlighting risks, trends and opportunities.
- Line-manage and develop a Junior Finance Administrator.
- Support the development of a strong internal finance culture as the function grows.
- Proven background in financial management, including monthly management accounts.
- Strong experience in budgeting, forecasting and providing commercial insight.
- Strong Excel skills
- Experience with Xero, desirable.
- Part-qualified, qualified, QBE or studying CIMA/ACCA (or equivalent).
Salary: £50,000 - £55,000 FTE
