Marine Water Quality Officer – 32656

Our ambition is that by 2050, waters from catchment to coast are cleaner and thriving. The Marine Water Quality Officer will play a vital role in assessing and managing the impact of discharges on water quality, using data analysis, modelling and evidence‑based decision‑making.

Responsibilities
  • Review and summarise complex reports to support decision‑making.
  • Interpret monitoring data and model outputs to protect the environment.
  • Use data to inform water‑quality models for project and policy support.
  • Apply sound records‑management principles.
  • Communicate technical work and elevate challenges to senior staff when required.
  • Build strong relationships across a dispersed team and with external partners.
  • Participate in incident response and incident‑management duties, with full training and support.
Qualifications
  • A degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline.
  • Experience in data analysis and knowledge of modelling software.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Access, R, Power BI, GIS and specialist packages such as Mike or Cormix is an advantage.
  • Comfortable working in a virtual team and travelling for national meetings.
  • Professional membership in progress is desirable.
Employment Details
  • Positions: 1 permanent, 1 fixed‑term (6 months).
  • Location:

    national role – flexible/hybrid based in EA office.
  • Salary: £25,000.00 – £25,000.00.
  • Full‑time.
Additional Information
