HOW YOU WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCEAs a Sterile Services Technician you will be part of our Sterile Services team, working in a high‑throughput environment and ensuring instruments are safely sterilised for the next patient.
Work Pattern12 weeks training. First few weeks Monday‑Friday 9:00‑17:00. Afterwards training continues during regular shift hours on a zero hours basis.
What You Will Do- Follow a highly regulated end‑to‑end sterilisation/decontamination process on surgical instruments that have been used in operations in local NHS and private hospitals, ensuring they can be used safely again.
- Prepare sterile consumables (dressings, linen, surgical instruments and equipment) by decontamination, inspection assembly and packing within predefined quality standards.
- Rigorously check, wash, lay up and pack sets of theatre instruments to meet contract specifications.
- Safely operate and monitor machines and equipment (washer/disinfectors, ultrasonic, and sterilisers) effectively.
- Record and log repairs and missing instruments or equipment on the Tracking and Traceability computer system (Synergy Trak).
- Return repaired instruments or equipment to stock or the appropriate coded sets or the Trust’s appointed person.
- Annual salary of £24,465 plus a 5% performance bonus, and generous shift allowances for overtime/unsociable hours.

Educated on good general standard with demonstrable verbal and numerical abilities. Basic end‑user IT skills to operate track and traceability IT systems.
