Work Set Up: Hybrid (3 days onsite in Sheffield office)

Our client in the Information Technology and Services industry is looking for a highly skilled Automation Test Engineer to support a large-scale Identity and Access Management (IAM) transformation initiative. This role will focus primarily on automated testing, with occasional manual testing as required, ensuring robust quality assurance across complex enterprise systems. The successful candidate will contribute to designing, building, executing, and maintaining automated test frameworks while collaborating closely with technical and business stakeholders in a highly regulated, cloud-enabled environment.

What you will do:

  • Plan, develop, execute, maintain, and enhance automated test frameworks and automated test scripts for web and database applications.
  • Develop and executetest plans, test cases, test scenarios, test data, and supporting documentation based on functional requirements and technical specifications.
  • Perform Web UI testing and database comparison testing across enterprise platforms.
  • Executestrong manual testing activities where automation was not feasible.
  • Createand maintain

    Jenkins pipelines to execute automated tests, generate reports, and notify teams of results within CI/CD processes.
  • TestAPIs using tools such as Rest Assured, Postman, and Insomnia.
  • Conducttesting across cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, GCP, and Ali Cloud.
  • Identify, log, and trackdefects using JIRA and Zephyr, participating in triage meetings and verifying fixes.
  • Reviewtest cases to ensure traceability and coverage against requirements and designs.
  • Liaise with business and technical teams to define SIT, OAT, and UAT scenarios.
  • Analyzesystem designs and documentation for testability and quality improvements.
  • Support

    IAM-focused testing activities, including validation of integrations with Active Directory, Service Now, and cloud platforms.
  • Testidentity platforms and data ingestion using SCIM, REST APIs, LDAP, OIDC, and CSV formats.
  • Performtesting on graph database management systems (GDBMS).
  • Implementtesting strategies for Policy as Code and Git Ops repositories.
  • Conduct Batch ETL testing, Pub/Sub and message queue testing, and SaaS testing.
  • Mentorjunior engineers and supported knowledge-sharing across the team.
  • Integrateautomation testing into Git Lab CI/CD pipelines and applied shift-left testing practices.
  • Identifyprocess improvements and proposed enhancements to automation strategy.
  • Adaptto new tools and technologies in a fast-changing environment.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in automation testing and framework development.
  • Experience with Selenium, WDIO, Cucumber, Rest Assured, QMetry, and Test Rail.
  • Knowledge of Jenkins, BDD/TDD frameworks, and Git-based workflows.
  • Solid experience with Web UI testing, API testing, and database validation.
  • Experience working within cloud environments and Dev Ops tool chains.
  • Familiarity with IAM concepts and platforms such as SailPoint Identity

    IQ is preferred.
  • Knowledge of identity protocols including SCIM, LDAP, OIDC, and REST APIs.
  • Experience working with SaaS platforms and API Gateways.
  • Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively in Agile and cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated mentoring capability and leadership within technical teams.
