This is a pivotal role where you will work alongside talented teams to deliver scalable, secure, and highly available systems that support critical government operations. If you thrive in fast‑paced settings and have a knack for transforming technical requirements into effective Dev Ops tool chains, this opportunity could be your next career move.
Whatyou'll bring
- Proven expertise in designing, implementing, and managing Dev Ops pipelines and automation tools within AWS environments.
- Strong experience with infrastructure as code (IaC), CI / CD pipelines, and containerisation technologies.
- Deep understanding of deployment strategies, ensuring solutions are repeatable, scalable and resilient.
- Ability to identify process optimisation opportunities and lead their implementation.
- Proficiency in integrating security controls into solutions to mitigate threats.
- Excellent collaboration skills, with experience working alongside software engineers and delivery teams.
- Knowledge of Agile methodologies to drive efficient project delivery.
- Supportive mentoring skills to guide junior colleagues and share best practices.
- Experience with additional cloud providers or hybrid cloud architectures.
- Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python, Bash or Power Shell.
- Knowledge of security standards and compliance frameworks relevant to government and public sector projects.
- Certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect or Dev Ops Engineer.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- At least 5 years of hands‑on experience in Dev Ops, cloud engineering or system automation roles, preferably within government or large enterprise environments.
- Willingness to attend occasional in‑person meetings and quarterly planning sessions across London, Birmingham and Belfast.
- You MUST have active SC security clearance for this role (We are unable to renew a lapsed clearance).
- Willing to work on a 12‑month contract, with flexibility for a short notice period if required.
