Elevation Recruitment Group are proud to be partnering with a large specialist manufacturing business based in Sheffield. Our client is seeking an experienced, hands‑on Production Manager to lead their shop‑floor operations, overseeing the entire process of creating goods, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring high standards for quality, safety, and delivery.

Duties of the role:

• Oversee day‑to‑day production activities, managing a large team of Production Supervisors and skilled Operatives.
• Plan and schedule production to ensure orders are delivered on time and in full (OTIF).
• Champion Lean / CI initiatives to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and drive cost savings.
• Ensure compliance with health & safety, quality, and environmental standards.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Planning, and Supply Chain to resolve production bottlenecks – root cause analysis.
• Monitor KPIs and generate performance reports to senior leadership.
• Develop and coach the production team to build capability and ownership.

Experienced required:

• Proven production management experience in a large, fast‑paced manufacturing environment (machining preferred).
• Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing / CI methodologies (Kaizen, 5S, root cause analysis) – Lean Six Sigma qualifications preferred.
• Excellent leadership and people management skills – you can motivate and develop a team.
• Strong planning, organisational, and problem‑solving abilities.
• Experience of working with production planning systems (ERP / MRP) and Microsoft Office.
• A solid commitment to health and safety standards, ideally with qualifications (IOSH / NEBOSH).
