Production Manager, Operations Manager
Overview
Imagine a place where what's built on the shop floor ends up shaping how people work, travel and operate all over the world. It's a business driven by practical innovation - combining engineering know-how with smart technology to create capital equipment and measurement solutions that customers rely on every day. Over the years, it has grown steadily, earning trust through quality, reliability and a refusal to stand still.
Now, with demand increasing and the operation evolving, the next chapter is about leadership on the assembly floor.
You’ll lead, coach and develop a team of assembly operators, creating a culture where standards are clear, training is meaningful and continuous improvement is part of everyday work. Regular one‑to‑ones, team briefs and appraisals will build engagement, reduce turnover and raise performance. You’ll embed 5S and lean thinking into the fabric of the department, helping teams understand not just what needs to change, but why.
You’ll take full ownership of compliance in Health, Safety and Environmental responsibility, working alongside engineering, quality and maintenance to resolve issues quickly, reduce scrap and rework, and keep equipment running with minimal downtime. As new processes, technology and machinery are introduced, you’ll be right at the centre of making change land successfully.
You’ll work closely with the Production Manager, often stepping in as their deputy, helping to shape how the department runs both today and tomorrow. Capacity planning, labour scheduling, stockholding, delivery performance – these aren’t just metrics on a dashboard, they’re levers you’ll actively pull to support growth and customer satisfaction.
Change ManagementIt’s a role for someone hands‑on and resilient – a leader who can think analytically, solve problems under pressure and still remain visible on the floor. Someone comfortable balancing day‑to‑day delivery with longer‑term improvement. Someone who can bring people with them through change, not just enforce it.
ClosingIn return, you’ll be joining a business that’s investing in its future – improving how it operates, expanding its capabilities and recognising that strong leadership is key to staying competitive. You’ll have the opportunity to shape how a critical part of the operation works, to leave your mark on processes, people and performance, and to grow alongside a company that values quality, safety and continuous improvement as much as you do.
