Registered Nurse – Band 5 (Paediatric)
We are looking for Band 5 nurses to join our multidisciplinary teams in a range of paediatric wards and units across Sheffield Children’s Hospital. This is a permanent full‑time position with both full‑time and part‑time options available. Successful candidates will participate in a rotational programme, rotating to 2–3 wards in the first 18 months, and will receive full orientation and a robust development plan.
Key responsibilities
:
- Co‑ordinate and deliver skilled nursing care to patients.
- Contribute to ongoing nursing development, including supervising junior nurses and support staff.
- Advocate for patients and families.
- Plan, implement and evaluate nursing care for an allocated patient group.
- Assist the team in managing and developing the ward/department.
- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
Required qualifications and experience
:
- Qualified paediatric nurse holding RSCN / RN Child registration with the NMC, or the ability to obtain registration by 2026.
- Good communication skills and a commitment to personal and professional development.
- Experience in paediatric or related healthcare settings is highly desirable.
Wards and departments you may work in (examples):
- Ward 1 – General Surgical;
Ward 2 – Orthopaedics & Burns;
Ward 3 & 4 – General Medical. - Ward 5 – Neurosciences;
Ward 6 – Haematology/Oncology. - Other units – ED, PCCU, NSU, 0‑19, Theatre Admissions Unit (TAU), PACU.
