* Position Summary:

** Under the direction of the immediate supervisor, receives, sorts, verifies, prepares and processes various documents related to purchasing, invoicing, accounts receivable or other accounting matters. Using computerized information systems, performs data entry necessary to update accounts and files. Verifies and corrects data transmitted.

** Major

Duties and Responsibilities:

** 1.
Receives and sends, sorts, verifies, processes and prepares various accounting documents such as purchase orders, invoices, cheque requisitions, receivables, etc. Assigns transactions to correct accounts and sub-accounts. Ensures that documents are accurate and have been approved by the relevant authority. Performs calculations and makes corrections where necessary.  2.
Using computerized information systems, performs data entry necessary to update accounts and files. Opens accounts according to specific instructions. Reviews validation reports produced by the system. Verifies and corrects data transmitted. Scans documents and verifies scanning quality.  3.
Maintains and queries databases. Reviews and corrects data.  4.
Sorts, codes, files and matches documentation according to established methods  5.
Follows up on orders. Investigates any discrepancies within established procedures. Obtains and provides factual information related to sphere of activity by telephone or in person. Refers unusual cases to person responsible.  6.
Reconciles statements and participates in the reconciliation of accounts.  7.
Requests security back-up copies of computerized information systems.

** Other Qualifying Skills and/or Abilities:
** 1. Demonstrated attention to detail.
2.  DEP (Accounting), one (1) year related experience   
3. Proven ability to transmit and receive information accurately.
4. Experience maintaining accurate record keeping.
5. Proven knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
6. Accounting background and experience with administrative duties an asset.
7. Organization skills with ability to prioritize and meet weekly and monthly deadlines.
8.  English and French spoken and written.  
9.  Able to communicate detailed information clearly to clients.
10. Customer service oriented, demonstrated professionalism and diplomacy under pressure.  11. Able to meet deadlines and problem solve when deadlines are at risk.
12.

Experience with Banner an asset.
13. The individual chosen for this role will be required to be on-site full-time, five days per week.
