Responsibilities
Familiarity with software enhancement cycles and business continuity planningExposure to enterprise architecture and application rationalization strategiesAid internal users on various applications for working papers, bookkeeping (desktop and cloud products), tax preparation, and in house custom templates for financial statementsAssess requests and determine root cause of issuesUnderstand functionality from a user perspective of accounting products used for preparation of files and client deliverablesDevelop an understanding of all components of MNP’s customized templatesIdentify and troubleshoot application problems leveraging your accounting and technology knowledge and communicate those to the development teamEscalate enquires in a timely manner to the development team for fixes, or to internal subject matter experts for issues requiring clarificationContact third party vendors when appropriate to request more assistance or report issues with functionalityDocument resolutions and workarounds in the knowledge baseBuild trust with internal users by regularly demonstrating a high level of expertise and professionalismDevelop a thorough understanding of MNP’s services, businesses, and industryContribute to the development of new ideas and approaches to improve work processesSkills and Experience
Post secondary education in accounting or at least 2 years of experience in a full cycle accounting roleExperience using accounting softwareComfortable working with help desk tools to track and manage support requests, and able to prioritize tasks based on urgency and follow-throughDemonstrates strong attention to detail and follows through on tasks with care and accuracy, ensuring timely and thoughtful supportCommunicates clearly and professionally with internal teams, showing empathy and a commitment to resolving issues effectivelyAdapts to changing priorities, takes ownership of responsibilities, and actively contributes to team learning and improvementExperience with business applications in accounting or assurance domains is an assetWritten and verbal French and English language skills, due to frequent collaboration with English-speaking teams/clients across Canada and some client deliverables/regulatory reporting obligation are in English
