DE LA FONTAINE, recognized every year from 2021 to 2025 among Canada’s Best Managed Companies, is looking for an Estimator to report to the Estimating Supervisor. The Estimator receives and processes requests for quotations for steel doors and frames in construction projects. They prepare proposals based on client needs and the company’s pricing structure.

More specifically, the Estimator will be responsible for:

• Preparing estimates and evaluations of doors and frames to develop quotations;
• Analyzing and interpreting blueprints and specifications;
• Preparing quotations by specifying quantities and including costs of doors and frames while considering pricing structure and margins;
• Occasionally assisting other estimators on projects with tight deadlines;
• Translating and adapting client projects into the company’s nomenclature;
• Providing support and follow‑up by sharing technical information;
• Addressing client requests with internal resources;
• Taking on any other related responsibilities and tasks.

You are the person we’re looking for if you have the following skills and qualities:

• Diploma directly related to the construction field (such as a college diploma in Architectural Technology, Building Technology, Engineering Technology, or an AEC in Construction Estimating);
• Ability to read blueprints and specifications;
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and advanced Excel);
• Relevant experience with metal products (an asset);
• Strong time and priority management skills;
• Ability to multitask;
• Strong customer orientation;
• Bilingual in English and French (spoken and written).*
