The Carrier Sourcing Coordinator is responsible for identifying, evaluating and onboarding transportation carriers to support BRPs outbound finished goods network. This role ensures BRP secures reliable, cost-effective capacity while meeting service, compliance and quality expectations. The coordinator works closely with Carrier management Team and carrier partners to maintain an optimized transportation network for BRPs seasonal and year‑round demand.
Carrier Procurement- Identify and vet qualified carriers based on company needs, region, and service type (e.g., FTL, LTL, intermodal).
- Conduct rate negotiations to ensure competitive pricing.
- Onboard new carriers, ensuring compliance with safety, insurance, and contractual standards.
- Maintain ongoing communication with current carriers to support load coverage.
- Build strong, long‑term relationships to ensure consistent capacity and performance.
- Update Transportation Management Systems (TMS) with carrier information, rates, and contracts.
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as on‑time performance, tender acceptance, service failures and rate performance.
- Analyze large amounts of data to find issues and/or potential improvements.
- Work with internal teams such as transportation planners, customer service, and warehouse teams to understand capacity needs.
- Communicate urgent or high‑priority load needs and find solutions quickly.
- Monitor freight market trends, spot rates, and capacity shifts to inform sourcing strategy.
- Recommend adjustments to sourcing strategy during peak seasons or disruptions.
- Minimum 5 years experience in logistics, transportation or supply chain.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, TMS platforms, and logistics software (e.g., SAP TM).
- Understanding regulations and carrier compliance requirements.
- High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
- Spoken and written bilingualism (English and French), advanced level (4/5). Spanish is a plus.
- Knowledge of domestic and cross‑border (e.g., Canada/US/MX) freight.
- Familiarity with contract freight and spot market dynamics.
- Evaluate and analyze data for accuracy and trends and report findings.
- Assess performance metrics and recommend improvements.
- Driven individual, strong sense of initiative, autonomy, structure and rigor.

- Keen strategic sense and strong persuasion skills.
- Innovative and curious mind with an attention to detail.
- Proven leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent ability to work in multidisciplinary and multicultural teams.
- Great proficiency at synthesizing and communicating complex information to a variety of audiences.
- Work well under pressure and can shift gear to adapt to any new situation.
Willingness to travel on occasion 20%.
This position is based in Sherbrooke, Quebec.
