We are recruiting an Aircraft Mechanical Fitter for an initial 6‑month contract, responsible for assisting in the movement, line and base maintenance of the UK MFTS (RW) H135/H145 fleet.

Role: Aircraft Mechanical Fitter

Pay: £28.16 per hour (via Umbrella)

Location: Shawbury

Contract: Monday – Friday, 08:00–17:00 (40 hours per week), 6‑month contract

IR35 Status: Inside

Security Clearance: BPSS, SC Clearance required

Responsibilities
  • Provide engineering operational support to Flight Operations.
  • Accomplish maintenance inspections and repairs as directed by the nominated Shift Supervisor or Certifying Engineer.
  • Work to high standards to ensure continued safe operation of the aircraft.
  • Complete maintenance, including airframe structure, power plant, mechanical and electrical systems, in accordance with written instructions laid down by OEM.
  • Conduct off‑aircraft mechanical, power plant, component and composite technical work in workshops as required.
  • Assist in day‑to‑day running of the aircraft hangar, including aircraft movement and general housekeeping responsibilities.
Essential

Skills & Qualifications
  • Thorough knowledge of engine and airframe systems.
  • Knowledge of specialised test equipment relating to engine and airframe systems.
  • Up‑to‑date knowledge of Flight/Airport Operations, Aircraft Line Maintenance, and Aircraft Base Maintenance.
  • Apprenticeship in Aircraft Maintenance or a related discipline.
  • Experience in Base Maintenance and in Flight Operations and Line Maintenance.
Desirable

Skills & Qualifications
  • Knowledge of UK Military Aviation and UK MFTS.
  • Knowledge of CAA Part 145 and Part M regulations.
  • Experience on H135/H145 aircraft.
  • Experience with Airbus Helicopters products.
  • Experience in Military Aviation.
