Station Manager – Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service
Shropshire Fire & Rescue Service is a combined fire authority that serves over 480,000 residents across 1,346 square miles, including the busy towns of Shrewsbury and Telford. The Service is hiring for a range of upcoming Station Manager roles in 2026, based at Service Headquarters or Telford Central Station.

: £50,135 Development, £55,301 Competent

Hours of Work
: 42‑hour rota with Flexible Duty Rota.
We are seeking dynamic, adaptable, and resilient individuals who can demonstrate the operational and managerial competencies required at Station Manager level. Candidates may be current Station Managers or competent Wholetime Watch Managers. An ILM Level 5 Leadership and Management qualification, or equivalent, is required or being pursued.
Watch Managers will be required to complete our Station Manager CPG (Career Progression Gateway) process as part of the shortlisting selection. The CPG consists of a written case study and a 1:1 online role‑play hosted via MS Teams, evaluated against the ‘Leading the Function’ behaviours from the NFCC Leadership framework. Successful candidates will sit the CPG on 19 and 20 January 2026 at Shropshire Fire & Rescue Service HQ in Shrewsbury.
