This is an exciting opportunity to join a transformational Trust and play a pivotal role in leading and coordinating the day‑to‑day activities of the in‑house Estates mechanical service. We are looking for someone who is technically astute and has a strong track record of managing and delivering a customer‑focused maintenance service at a similar level within a highly complex environment. You will manage performance, provide technical expertise and support the team.

Wherever applicable, you will also be responsible for managing external contracted support to ensure value for money, quality and H&S compliance.

Key responsibilities include:

• Responsible for an engineering and building maintenance section of the Trust, including first‑line day‑to‑day management of an efficient, effective and patient‑focused maintenance & repair service within allocated budgets, using Direct Employment Labour (DEL) and Contractors.
• Act as Authorised Person/Responsible Officer for specific maintenance responsibilities such as medical gases, specialised ventilation, electrical safety, water safety and decontamination equipment.
• Maintain, operate and review Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) programmes and implement operational work plans to keep buildings, plant and equipment at high standards.
• Continually review and revise operational procedures and working practices to improve the maintenance and repair services.
