Buyer

Location:

Local to Shrewsbury area

Orion are looking for a proactive and detail-driven Buyer who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and remains calm under pressure.

As Buyer you will be working part of a team with responsibility for buying a range of electro-mechanical parts for production, this will include metal work electronics through to electrical items.

Buyer responsibilities:

Execute daily procurement activities with speed and accuracy to keep production lines running.
Sources competitive quotes, evaluates supplier options, and raises purchase orders promptly.
Monitors delivery schedules to prevent downtime and ensures materials meet strict quality and specification standards.
Quickly resolves issues related to pricing, delivery delays, or product non-conformance to maintain workflow continuity.
Tracks and expedites deliveries, proactively following up with suppliers to avoid production delays.
Organizes and manages procurement documentation, including purchase orders and project files, ensuring full traceability.

Buyer

Experience:

2 years’ experience in procurement or purchasing within an engineering and manufacturing environment
Strong communication and negotiation skills

Experience with MRP/ERP/SAP systems
Electro-mechanical purchasing experience
High attention to detail and a collaborative mindset
Ability to stay composed and effective under pressure

Shifts:

Monday - Friday 8:30 – 17:30
