About the Job

As part of the Communications team, this role partners with the Senior Manager (Digital Marketing & Experience) to strengthen the university’s digital presence.

The Manager (Web Strategy & Governance) will lead the business ownership of SUSS’ corporate website, ensuring it operates as a strategic communication and engagement platform that reflects the university’s brand and supports recruitment and outreach objectives.

You will drive governance, enhance user experience, leverage analytics, and integrate marketing technology, working closely with the IT department (in charge of technical stewardship) and external vendors to ensure business goals, technical feasibility, and user needs are aligned.

What You Will Be Doing

Key Responsibilities

Website Governance & User Experience

  • Define and enforce content governance, publishing standards, and brand consistency.
  • Lead regular content audits to maintain accuracy, compliance, and quality.
  • Drive ongoing improvements in website usability, navigation, and overall user experience.
  • Advise internal content owners on publishing best practices and maintaining a consistent tone of voice on our digital platforms.

Analytics, Insights & Marketing Tech Enablement

  • Strengthen the framework for website performance measurement and developing reporting dashboards.
  • Analyse data to uncover trends, opportunities, and actionable insights that drive decision‑making.
  • Identify and implement marketing technology tools (e.g. personalisation, automation, CRM/web integrations) to improve recruitment and engagement.
  • Monitor and report on the impact of website initiatives to demonstrate measurable ROI.
  • Act as the primary business liaison for website‑related needs across internal stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with external CMS vendors for user support, bug fixes, and enhancements.
  • Collaborate closely with IT on technical feasibility, infrastructure, integrations, and security compliance.
  • Consolidate business requirements and feedback for IT when integrations involve other enterprise platforms (e.g. CRM, course data, events).
  • Provide business input into IT‑led procurement processes; validate vendor deliverables from a business perspective.

Strategic Roadmap Alignment

  • Develop and manage a website roadmap aligned with university objectives and marketing priorities.
  • Champion the website as a strategic digital asset that connects content, technology, and user experience.
  • Represent Comms in joint governance forums with IT to align business and technical planning.
  • Promote best practices in digital governance and accessibility.

Special Projects & Other Support

  • Drive the department’s efforts to optimise processes and enhance efficiency by developing, testing and implementing automated workflows.
  • Perform team-related duties and responsibilities as well as support university-wide events, as required.
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration (with digital focus), or a related field.
  • 6–8 years of experience in website management, digital marketing, or UX, demonstrating both strategic leadership and hands‑on execution.
  • Proven ability to plan and execute website improvements, including content governance, CMS management, and basic analytics or dashboard setup.
