Research Assistant (Biological Sciences)
The successful candidate will work with A/Prof Christoph Winkler and Prof Berta Sivan on research work under a project on SINGAPORE AQUACULTURE SOLUTION CENTER.
Main Responsibilities- Plan and conduct life science R&D experiments and routine operations focusing on aquaculture such as husbandry, fish breeding, developmental biology, transcriptomics, routine molecular biology techniques, optimization of operations, diagnostics, health, genetics.
- Work with the project leader and co-project leaders to achieve the research objectives.
- Mentor students involved in final year projects, internships, short-term work attachments.
- Support the procurement of consumables and equipment together with lab management.
Bachelor’s degree in life science, Aquaculture, Agriculture or Molecular Biology.
Skills- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, building relationships at all levels.
- Sound planning, organizing, multi-tasking, strong sense of responsibility.
- Proficient in IT skills.
- Good documentation, laboratory techniques, research and data analysis skills.
- Experience in aquaculture operations and/or research would be an added advantage.
