Job Description & How to Apply Below
You’ll be responsible for leading new product development projects — from concept through to delivery — ensuring projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to specification. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you’ll bring together technical design expertise, project management capability, and a passion for problem-solving in a fast-paced, high-precision environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and support engineering development projects in line with company strategy and customer requirements.
* Manage New Product Introduction (NPI) activities using structured engineering processes.
* Define project objectives, create detailed project plans, and manage work packages to deliver key milestones.
* Produce and maintain technical documentation, project dashboards, and progress reports.
* Design and develop mechanical and electrical components using CATIA or similar CAD tools.
* Conduct Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and implement corrective actions.
* Apply “design for manufacture,” “design to cost,” and “design for inspection” principles.
* Liaise with internal teams, suppliers, and customers to resolve technical challenges.
* Support R&D initiatives and contribute to new product concepts and technology roadmaps.
* Ensure compliance with quality, health & safety, and environmental standards.
* Occasional travel to customer and supplier sites in the UK and overseas.
About You
* Degree qualified in Mechanical, Electrical, or Electro-Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent experience).
* Proven experience in project or design engineering within a manufacturing or aerospace environment.
* Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical design principles.
* Skilled in CAD tools (CATIA, Solid Works, or equivalent).
* Experienced in project progress reporting, RFQs, and technical documentation.
* Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
* Knowledge of aerospace industry standards and interconnect products (advantageous).
* Flexible to occasionally travel within the UK and internationally.
What’s on Offer
* Competitive salary and benefits package.
* Opportunity to work with a globally recognised engineering brand.
* Structured career development and professional training.
* Collaborative and innovative working environment
