Accounts Payable Assistant

Location: Slough – Office Based
Salary: £30,000 – £35,000 per annum

About the Job

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Accounts Payable Assistant to join a busy and dynamic finance department. Working closely with the AP Supervisor, this position plays a key role in ensuring accurate and timely processing of supplier transactions and maintaining healthy supplier relationships.

Duties will include:
  • Posting and reconciling purchase invoices, resolving any discrepancies prior to upload
  • Managing supplier queries and invoice approvals
  • Coordinating staff expenses and company credit card reconciliations
  • Processing intercompany transactions and supplier payments
  • Handling bank reconciliations and managing direct debits and standing orders
  • Supporting with complex invoices involving multiple currencies and VAT treatments
  • Performing supplier statement reconciliations and reviewing aged creditors
  • Assisting with month-end processes including accruals and reporting
About the Successful Applicant

You will have 3–5 years of practical accounts payable experience in a high-volume setting, preferably within a complex business environment. A part-qualified AAT or a degree in Accounting/Finance is preferable, alongside good Excel skills and a methodical, detail-focused approach. Confidence, clear communication, and the ability to multi-task are vital.
