Fitter (HGV Field Service Engineer) – Lanes Group

  Iver depot (Colnbrook, Berkshire) – traveling across the Waste Network Services catchment
• Job type:
  Permanent, full‑time
• Hours:
  
  Monday to Friday, 40 hours
• Salary: £55,000 per annum (depending on experience)

• Responsible for maintenance of the fleet of vehicles (vans to HGVs)
• Mechanical work on hydraulic and high‑pressure jetting systems used in drain and sewer cleaning operations
• Conduct routine inspections, preventive maintenance and diagnostics on hydraulic components
• Respond promptly to breakdowns and emergencies, providing on‑site repairs to minimize downtime
• Use diagnostic tools and equipment to identify and rectify technical issues
• Analyse recurring problems and implement preventive measures
• Stay up-to-date with legislation and industry standards; ensure compliance with health and safety, environmental, and best practice regulations

• Hard‑working and respectful, with a strong background in commercial HGV vehicle servicing
• Class B driving licence and fully recognised industry qualifications (City & Guilds or equivalent)
• Class C/E or HGV Class 2 driving licence essential
• IOSH or NEBOSH qualifications useful
• Previous water industry experience preferred; hydraulics experience desirable
• Compliance with health and safety standards is mandatory
