Scope Clarity (Please Read Carefully)

This role is strictly focused on METAL & GASKET TOOLING.

It does NOT include oil-seal lip geometry, rubber compound development, or rubber sealing design.

Role Overview

We are looking for a hands-on Senior Engineer to own and run the metal vertical end-to-end. The role covers tooling, execution, and coordination across:

- Oil seal metal shell tooling
- Gasket tooling (metal & elastomer)
- Machined add-on components
- Drawings, GD&T, and European customer documentation

You will work closely with the Plant Head and the Seal / Rubber Engineering team, while taking full ownership of the metal side to ensure smooth and timely execution.

Key Responsibilities

1️⃣ Oil Seal – Metal Shell Tooling

• Design and develop metal shells for oil seals

• Press tool design: blanking, drawing, redrawing, trimming, sizing

• Control OD/, roundness, spring back, and shell stability

• Coordinate press trials, corrections, and validation

• Standardize shell designs and tooling concepts

2️⃣ Gasket Tooling (Major Focus)

• Tooling for metal, rubber, cork, and foam gaskets

• Compression moulds, die-cut tools, and plate tools

• Low-to-medium volume aftermarket tooling (200–1000 pcs)

• Tool cost optimization and standardization

3️⃣ Machined Add-On Components

• Thrust rings, shims, spacers, circlips, and repair kits

• CNC turning and VMC coordination

• Ensure dimensional accuracy and repeatability

4️⃣ Drawings & Documentation (Critical for Europe)

• Create and release manufacturing drawings

• Apply functional GD&T

• Manage ECNs and revision control

• Prepare inspection and documentation packs for export customers

5️⃣ Shop-Floor Execution & Coordination

• Work closely with CNC/VMC operators, press operators, and moulders

• Coordinate daily priorities with the Plant Head

• Troubleshoot tooling and execution issues

• Ensure metal jobs never delay seal production

Candidate Profile

• Strong hands-on experience in metal tooling and gasket tooling

• Comfortable working inside a manufacturing plant

• Execution-oriented mindset (not theoretical only)

• Experience with export / European customers is a plus
