- Initiating, budgeting, planning and implementing projects
- Initiating and completing major capital and extraordinary maintenance projects according to budget
- Co-responsible to ensure maximum plant availability regarding Instrumentation equipment and systems for following plants:
- Water treatment and distribution plants
- Air generation
- Power generation
- Steam generation
- Energy distribution and control
- Compiling detail technical specifications
- Quality control of projects, machinery and installations
- Improving the process availability of the plant
- Technical support to the maintenance sections as above
- Failure analysis
- Training of Instrumentation personnel
- Liaising with outside companies and other sections within the works
- Render an efficient and effective service which includes ISO 9002 and ISO 14001
- Standby
- National Diploma (NQF 6/10) in Instrumentation
- Minimum 18 months experience as Instrument Technician
- Preferable experience in engineering environment
- Applicants must have a sound knowledge of Instrumentation systems and the maintenance of measuring and control equipment
- Extensive k nowledge of analytical equipment
- Extensive knowledge of systems networking
- Computer literate in MS Project; MS Word, MS Excel and power point
- Experience in SAP PM Modules is recommended
- Be in possession of a Code B drivers license
- Excellent knowledge of both DCS’s and PLC’s
- ABB DCS knowledge and ABB SCADA knowledge will be advantageous
- Rockwell PLC programming and Rockwell SCADA programming
- Safety conscious
- Able to work in a team
- Superior knowledge and application of skills in faultfinding
- Superior technical knowledge to be applied in relation to plant equipment
- Highly motivated
- Candidate must be pro-active and performance driven
