Job Description:

Hire Resolve’s Client are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Rock Engineer to join their team at a mining site in Limpopo, South Africa. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert rock engineering services to ensure the safety and stability of underground mining operations.

Responsibilities:
1. Conducting rock engineering assessments, audits, and inspections to identify potential hazards and risks in underground mining areas.
2. Designing and implementing ground support systems to ensure the stability of excavations and tunnels.
3. Providing technical support and guidance to mining personnel on ground control practices and procedures.
4. Conducting geotechnical investigations and monitoring to assess rock mass conditions and predicting ground behavior.
5. Developing and implementing rock engineering standards, policies, and procedures in compliance with industry regulations.
6. Collaborating with mine planning, production, and geotechnical teams to optimize mining strategies and minimize rock-related incidents.
7. Providing training and mentorship to junior rock engineers and other mining staff on rock mechanics principles and practices.

Requirements:
1. Grade 12 and Chamber of Mines Rock Mechanics Certificate
3. 2 years appointed Rock Engineer experience in a mining environment
4.

Experience with geotechnical software, ground support design, and rock mass characterization techniques.
5. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret and analyze rock mechanics data.
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
7. Knowledge of relevant mining regulations, standards, and best practices.
