Megchem is a leading engineering firm in the petrochemical industry, providing detail geotechnical and structural design and engineering services. We are seeking a Senior Civil Engineer with a B Eng/BSc Eng degree in Civil Engineering from a 4-year full-time study programme and a minimum of 4-8 years of experience. The successful candidate must be a registered professional with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) and have extensive experience in detail engineering on small to medium-sized projects, as well as exposure to other engineering disciplines.

Additionally, experience in detail design and engineering of equipment, with hands-on experience or exposure to the manufacturing of their own designs, is required. The ability to demonstrate this experience through examples is essential.

• Lead and manage all aspects of detail geotechnical and structural design and engineering projects in the petrochemical industry.
• Take full responsibility for contract management, technical integrity, schedule, and customer service for assigned projects.
• Utilise various software tools for design work and perform calculations based on first principles.
• Work independently and as part of a team.
• Demonstrate strong leadership, organisational, and time-management skills.
• Drive to achieve project goals and meet deadlines.
• Effectively market services and maintain good interpersonal relations.
• Communicate effectively through written reports in the English language.
• Maintain organisation and self-discipline in all aspects of work.
• Possess a valid driver's licence and own transportation (Code B / EB).

• B Eng/BSc Eng degree in Civil Engineering from a 4-year full-time study programme.
• Professional registration with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) is highly preferred.
• Minimum of 4-8 years of experience as a Senior Civil Engineer.
• Experience in detail engineering on small to medium-sized projects with exposure to other engineering disciplines.
• Experience in detail design and engineering of equipment, with hands-on experience or exposure to the manufacturing of their own designs.
• Ability to demonstrate experience through examples.
