Electrical Engineering Manager - Power Systems

Our client is seeking an experienced and dynamic Electrical Engineering Manager to oversee crucial operations within the Energy sector in Tembisa, Gauteng . • Lead and manage the electrical engineering department, providing technical expertise and direction.
• Develop and execute strategic plans for power system infrastructure development and maintenance.
• Oversee the design, engineering, and implementation of electrical projects, including substations, transmission lines, and distribution networks.
• Ensure the reliability, stability, and efficiency of the power grid.
• Manage project budgets, timelines, and resources effectively.
• Develop and enforce safety protocols and operational procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
• Collaborate with regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with industry standards and environmental regulations.
• Identify and evaluate new technologies to improve power system performance and sustainability.
• Mentor and develop engineering staff, fostering their professional growth.
• Represent the company in technical discussions with stakeholders, partners, and clients.

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline;
  Master's degree preferred.
• A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in electrical engineering within the Energy industry, with at least 3 years in a management or supervisory role.
• Extensive knowledge of power system analysis, design, protection, and control.
• Proven experience with SCADA systems, grid modernization, and smart grid technologies.
• Demonstrated expertise in managing large capital projects from conception to completion.
• Strong understanding of renewable energy integration principles (solar, wind).
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in relevant engineering software and simulation tools.
• Professional Engineer (Pr. Eng.) registration with ECSA is required.
• Experience with in the Gauteng region's energy infrastructure is a significant advantage.
