Platform Architect

Overview

Khonology is a digital services company focused on software development, Application Support, data analytics and engineering.

Will work closely with product owners, developers, and stakeholders to define, analyse, and document features that deliver measurable business value. We are looking for a Platform Architecht to join the team for a 6 month engagement.

The Platform Architect will be responsible for defining, designing, and maintaining the solution architecture of a technology platform intended for the deployment of multiple built (custom-developed) and bought (commercial off-the-shelf) solutions. The architect will ensure that the platform is scalable, secure, highly available, interoperable, observable and that it provides the capabilities required to achieve business goals.

• Develop and maintain the overall solution architecture for the technology platform.

• Evaluate and select appropriate technologies, frameworks, and tools to support both built and bought solutions.

• Ensure architectural consistency and integrity across all deployed solutions.

• Collaborate with stakeholders, including architects, business analysts, developers, and vendors, to capture requirements and translate them into architectural designs.

• Define integration patterns and data flow between built and bought solutions within the platform.

• Establish best practices for software development, deployment, and maintenance on the platform.

• Oversee the implementation of security, compliance, and data privacy requirements.

• Review and approve technical designs and implementation to ensure alignment with the solution architecture.

• Continuously assess emerging technologies and make recommendations for platform evolution.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in hands on software architecture and design, with exposure to both custom and commercial solutions.

• Relevant industry certifications (e.g. TOGAF, AWS or Azure)

• Proven experience in designing and implementing technology platforms that host multiple applications and services.

• Strong knowledge of integration patterns, APIs, microservices, and event processing.

• Experience with cloud platforms and hybrid deployments.

• Familiarity with Dev Ops practices, CI/CD pipelines, and containerisation technologies

• Experience in low latency processing requirements and relevant industry standards (e.g. FIX)

• Excellent understanding of security principles, data privacy, and compliance standards relevant to the platform’s domain.

• Demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
