Senior Infrastructure Architect

Our client, a prominent player in the industrial sector located in Vereeniging, Gauteng , is seeking a highly experienced Senior Infrastructure Architect to design, implement, and manage their critical IT infrastructure. This role is essential for ensuring the stability, scalability, and security of our technological foundation. You will be responsible for architecting robust infrastructure solutions that support our business operations and future growth.

• Design and implement scalable, reliable, and secure IT infrastructure solutions.
• Develop and maintain the infrastructure architecture roadmap, aligning with business goals.
• Evaluate and select appropriate hardware, software, and network components.
• Oversee the deployment and configuration of servers, storage, networks, and cloud services.
• Ensure high availability and disaster recovery capabilities for critical systems.
• Collaborate with IT operations teams to manage and maintain the infrastructure.
• Define and enforce infrastructure standards, policies, and procedures.
• Identify and address infrastructure performance bottlenecks and security vulnerabilities.
• Manage vendor relationships and evaluate new technologies.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to infrastructure engineers.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in IT infrastructure design, implementation, and management.
• Proven expertise in designing and managing complex server, storage, and network environments.
• Strong knowledge of virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
• Experience with networking protocols, firewalls, load balancers, and security best practices.
• Familiarity with operating systems (Windows Server, Linux).
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
• Experience working in an on-site role in the Vereeniging area.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., Cisco CCNA/CCNP, VCP, cloud certifications) are a plus.
